The world is full of hip hop groups and Amsterdam is no exception. Just as many other hip hop groups are choosing to do in this digital age, Zwart Licht has chosen to work as independent artists and no longer depend on record labels like Top Notch. This was the beginning of a two-year journey that provided a unique perspective into how Zwart Licht combined their past glory, their future aspirations, the expectations of the hip hop scene, and their personal growth into a new hip hop album. As a group how do you achieve that former glory of your debut album release or is this something you should even try? This reckoning with the past that Zwart Licht went through while making this album is a perspective on the creative process of making an album that is rarely presented. This is not like any of the other hip hop video out there, this documentary is the reality of the struggle to make it and do things on your own terms.
