whatsgood. on Netflix: Black Mirror

This will be the first edition of a series that considers movies, series, documentaries and other content available on Netflix. As whatsgood is based in the Netherlands, we only have access to content from the Dutch Netflix but if there is a will to watch the stuff recommended, we are sure you can find a way. To start off this series we will discuss a whatsgood favorite Black Mirror, as Season 3 was just released on Netflix.

Black Mirror is a British series created by Charlie Brooker that looks at modern society and its use of new technology with dark and often satirical themes. This speculative fiction gives us a glimpse of how technology and media could alter our lives and society in the near if we aren’t cautious. Created as an anthology series, each episode has a different cast, different setting and completely different story. The title is very fitting as the show presents a darker tone to a mirror of our own reality and according to the creator “The 'black mirror' of the title is the one you'll find on every wall, on every desk, in the palm of every hand: the cold, shiny screen of a TV, a monitor, a smartphone.” Something we can all relate to.

Stephen King has even noted his interest in the series, which for any film buffs out there, gives the series quite an endorsement. Billed as a mixture of The Twilight Zone and Tales of the Unexpected, and rated at 8.8/10 on IMDB this show is a must for everyone.
