Amsterdam Street Art (ASA) has been active for 4 year in the street art world. Their aim is first to inform locals about street art in Amsterdam and around the world, and to bring the creative industry and local artists together to show the multidisciplinary range of works and a variety of locations.

ASA itself promotes awareness of street art in order to help the genre gain greater perception and acceptance in more mainstream circles. ASA does this through the curating of street art festivals and advising local organizations regarding street art.

For a very long time street art has been very underground in its nature, and often times met with fines and jail time. Nowadays it is more accepted and beginning to be more appreciated. A prime example of this being Shepard Fairey and the brand Obey. Also, the recent hoax with Banksy being arrested makes us call into questions when someone is an artist or a vandal.

Make sure to check their page, like them on Facebook, and keep tabs on whatsgood in the street art scene.
