For all you artists and graphic designers out there, Pantone created an app which will make your life easier. Color is a difficult thing to judge, especially when looking between different screens and prints. Pantone is very well known in the graphic design world for their color matching system which involves palette cards with hundreds of colors in various shades with matte and glossy finishes. The whole point of this system is to side step the issue of the colors looking different on different screens. Using a standard color format, you can insure that the shade of red you chose from your stack of palette cards will be that exact color once it comes back from the printer.
Any graphic designer will know that these palette cards cost several hundred euros and are sometimes a pain to use when you want to identify a specific color.
The new app PANTONE Studio app lets you identify colors using your camera or images, create and store palette, create mood boards, and test your colors. Also, because it is connected to Creative Cloud, you can sync up your colors and send them to Photoshop or other Adobe design software.
The app is available for a $8 monthly or $60 annual subscription fee.
