Dekmantel produces documentary about Red Light Radio & Records

In an effort to clean up Amsterdam’s infamous Red Light District, the city government started to close up prostitute and brothel windows and replace them with artist spaces and businesses. Red Light Radio was a sort of internet radio station that started in this initiative of the government to reclaim the oldest part of Amsterdam. The radio station was setup by Orpheo de Jong and the attached Red Light Records created by crate-diggers Tako Reyenga and bel Nagengast soon after.

To kick off its Selectors festival and mix series Dekmantel produced a short documentary covering one of Amsterdam’s most important creative outlets, Red Light Radio and Red Light Records.
