PETE PHILLY FINALLY BREAKS YEARS LONG SILENCE

Back in 2005, the Dutch rapper/producer duo Pete Philly & Perquisite released their masterpiece Mindstate, an album that completely blew us away and is still in heavy rotation at our whatsgood. HQ. Two years later, in 2007, they followed up their debut with the also critically acclaimed album Mystery Repeats. After breaking down a lot of music venues and festivals with a rock solid live performance, in 2009 the duo decided to split up. After that, Pete Philly continued as a solo artist. In 2010, he released a free album called Open Loops, that you can still stream for free on openloop.nl. In 2011, he dropped his first full-length album titled One. The album didn't kick off his solo career as much as anticipated. For the last couple of years it's been really quiet from the Aruban-born MC/vocalist. Last year, he revealed through social media that his radio silence was due to him suffering from Lyme decease.

The silence ended yesterday, as Jakarta Records uploaded Pete Philly's brand new track "Until" on their SoundCloud. If the South-American influenced, bombastic track is any indication of what he's got in store for us in the near future, we're really looking forward to hearing more! Welcome back Pete!
