Art takes many forms but this one might be one of the most innovative yet. Artist Christo Vladimirov Yavachev made it possible to walk on water in on Iseo Lake in Iseo, Italy. The project took 40 years to realize and consists of 200,000 floating cubes and 100,000sqaure meters of fabric. The almost 3km long walkway will only last for 2 weeks and connects the islands of San Paolo and Monte Isola with the mainland.
The artist and his late wife Jeanne-Claude said “I know these projects are totally irrational, totally useless”, “The world can live without them, nobody needs them, only me and Jeanne-Claude.” Some artist do things simply because they think they are cool and that is just awesome.
