GOOGLE ART CAMERA, SAVING ART A BILLION PIXELS AT A TIME

The Google Cultural Institute has created a camera whose function is to capture amazingly detailed photos of art work by the world’s greats in an effort to help preserve these works but also to provide people with the opportunity to actually see them. At over a billion pixels per image the Art Camera is capable at recording detail not even seen by the naked eye. Previously this process was laborious and was only possible but a few experts, the Art Camera has automated several steps making the entire process much more streamlined and quick.
