IS PHARRELL WILLIAMS THE CEO OF STREET WEAR?

The news of Pharrell Williams announcing on Instagram that he is now co-owner of G-Star Raw has been blowing up the news in the last few hours. This comes after news of him buying back controlling interest in Billionaire Boys Clubs and Ice Cream from Iconix Brands Group Inc, less than a month ago.

To give you a little background, Pharrell (N.E.R.D) made A Bathing Ape (founded by Nigo in 1993) famous in the western world when he started wearing BAPE in the mid 2000’s. Now BAPE is seen as a global trendsetter in street wear.  After initially having approached Nigo for a limited collaboration, the two complimented each other’s styles enough for them to start separate streetwear brands exclusively exploring their ideas together – today, known as Billionaire Boys Club and Ice Cream.

It now seems that with this latest acquisition Pharrell Williams is consolidating his fashion interests. Something big could be come from the street wear mogul in the near future. Keep an eye out on Pharrell.
